Ages 5-7
Our U8 program (ages 5-7) for skiers and riders is a foundational program with training on Saturday and Sunday during the winter, with additional weekdays during holiday breaks. The program focuses on the foundational techniques and skills needed to become an expert skier or rider and builds the fundamental skills athletes need to move into a more specialized program in Alpine, Backcountry, Freeride, or Freeski as they grow and mature.
Our coaches create a fun environment for their teams and work to develop a love of the outdoors and winter sports while modeling how to approach challenging situations with grit, grace, and courage, the core characteristics of SBA athletes.
This program follows the guidelines of the U.S. Ski & Snowboard athlete development model with training 2 days per week. Athletes will focus on skier/rider safety, technical ability, balance, and coordination with an emphasis on adventure and mileage. Groups are formed based on age and ability.
Ski athletes with sufficient ability will be exposed to gate training in our race arena. U8 ski athletes have the option of competing in Tahoe Race Series Alpine races, or they can compete in Far West U10 Alpine races with our U10 team.
