Enrollment Process

We serve the next generation of great students and athletes who demonstrate grit, grace, and courage on the mountain, inside the classroom, and in life.

Our school programs accept students in grades 6-12 who share our dedication to excellence in athletics and academics and want to grow personally as they prepare for their athletic careers and college.

Full Year School Admissions

Sugar Bowl Academy follows a structured admissions cycle for Full-Time enrollment. Completed applications must be submitted by the admissions deadline of March 18. Applications are reviewed by the Admissions Committee, with admissions decisions beginning March 19 and continuing as decisions are finalized.

To support the enrollment of highly qualified students, Sugar Bowl Academy reserves the right to review applications and extend offers of admission prior to the regular decision date for exceptional candidates whose academic achievement, athletic ability, character, or other qualities demonstrate an outstanding fit with the school's mission and community.

Applicants seeking need-based Financial Aid for Full-Time enrollment must submit a completed Financial Aid application by March 12, 2027 to be considered during the initial Financial Aid review cycle.

Financial Aid applications received after March 12, 2027 may be considered only if funds remain available.

Applications received after the priority admissions deadline may be considered on a space-available basis at the discretion of Sugar Bowl Academy.

Winter Term School Admissions

Applications for Winter Term 2028 enrollment open on September 1, 2026 and are reviewed on a rolling basis.

Qualified applicants may be offered admission as applications are completed and reviewed, and enrollment will remain open until all available Winter Term spaces have been filled.

Applicants seeking need-based Financial Aid for Winter Term enrollment must submit a completed Financial Aid application by March 12, 2027 to be considered during the initial Financial Aid review cycle. Financial Aid applications received after March 12, 2027 may be considered only if funds remain available.

Enrollment Process

Enrollment for both the Full Year and Winter Term school programs follows the process below.

Step 1 – Inquiry Form
Complete inquiry form. A member of our team will contact you to learn more about you and your family as well as share the opportunities at Sugar Bowl Academy. Our process for academics is individualized to ensure our programs are a good fit.

Step 2 – Application
After completing the inquiry form, we will share a link to the online application checklist. A completed application checklist is required for admissions into school programs.

Step 3 – Visit SBA (highly encouraged)
We encourage you to visit SBA to meet our leadership team, see our facilities, and ski or ride with our coaches, if possible. Our admissions team will work with your family to schedule a visit.

Step 4 – Financial Aid (optional)
Complete the applicable financial aid process with your SBA application so we can evaluate both and provide a response that includes accurate program costs for your child. For more information on our financial aid options, please visit our Financial Aid information page.

Step 5 – Decision
We will provide an admission decision to your family within 30 days of your application submission.

Multiple school programs for the 2027-2028 school year are projected to have more enrollment demand than available space. We encourage you to complete the enrollment process as quickly as possible. The enrollment calendar for the 2027-2028 school year is below.

  • September 1 - Applications Open

    • Applications for the 2027-2028 school year open.

    • Winter Term 2027 and Winter Term 2028 applications are accepted on a rolling basis throughout the year.

  • September - December - Early Admissions

    • Exceptional full-year candidates may receive an admission offer during this period.

    • Financial aid is not available for students admitted through Early Admissions.

    • All other full-year admissions decisions are released after March 19, 2027.

  • January 8 - Need-Based Financial Aid & Merit Scholarship Applications Open

    • Need-based financial aid and merit based scholarship applications open.

    • Enrollment contracts become available to eligible returning and Early Admission families.

  • March 12 - Financial Aid Application Deadline

    • All need-based financial aid and merit scholarship applications must be submitted by this date.

  • March 18 - Full-Year Application Deadline

    • All full-year application checklists must be completed and submitted by this date.

  • March 19 - Full-Year Admissions Decisions Begin

    • Release of admissions decisions to new applicants begins.

    • Contracts are released to returning students applying for need-based financial aid or merit scholarships.

    • Contracts are released to newly accepted students following their admissions decision.

  • April 20 - Final Enrollment Contract Deadline

  • After April 20 - Admissions as Space Allows

    • Full-year and Winter Term applications may continue to be considered based on available space.
