Post Graduate

SBA offers a high-performance postgraduate (PG) program designed for selected athletes who are highly motivated and committed to achieving their goals. The PG program provides a flexible and individualized training environment with an exceptional athlete-to-coach ratio with one coach for every 3-4 athletes, ensuring a personalized approach to development and race selection.

Alpine

The primary objective of the Alpine PG program is to prepare athletes for National/Development Team nominations or placement on their desired college team. To achieve this objective, the program focuses on NorAm and FIS races across the United States, Canada, and Europe. This PG program will ensure overall athlete development focusing on technical, tactical, physical, and mental aspects of ski racing. Sugar Bowl Academy will provide the resources and support necessary for athletes to reach their full potential and excel in their skiing careers.

The preparatory period includes over 60 on-snow days across six training blocks, emphasizing technical and tactical development:

  • June/July: Europe Glacier + Indoor (15 on-snow days)

  • August: Europe Glacier (15 on-snow days)

  • September: Europe Glacier (11 on-snow days)

  • October: Europe Glacier + Indoor (13 on-snow days)

  • November: Canada (10 on-snow days) or early season start in Europe (TBD based on conditions)

In addition to on-snow training, athletes will undergo a four-week preseason intensive strength and conditioning program focused on Alpine-specific conditioning and injury prevention (August-September). Athletes will stay in Europe between the September and October projects for a week of seaside conditioning.
