Backcountry Head Coach

Jon Rockwood founded the Backcountry/Snow Rangers program in 2009. He is an AMGA Certified Ski Guide and Lead AIARE Avalanche Instructor. Jon brings decades of ski guiding experience to the Backcountry/Snow Rangers program as well as a deep passion for backcountry skiing. Jon has inspired many young skiers over the years and strives to create respectful, competent, capable, and safe backcountry skiers for life.  When he is not ski guiding, you can find Jon teaching his young family, Dottie and Rose, how to ski at Sugar Bowl.
