Off-Season Projects

Off-Season Projects are an important part of SBA’s overall training philosophy and commitment to high-quality athletic programming for athletes. We highly recommend that all school and full-year athletes participate in the Off-Season Projects for their discipline. The work put in during the off-season makes a tremendous difference in an athlete’s performance during the competitive season and is a strategic investment in next season’s competitive readiness. Alpine Europe U14, U16, FIS - June 9-July 3

Stelvio, Italy and Wittenburg, Germany
Team travel
Open to full-year school students and PG team athletes
$5,500 project fee
$1,800 airfare
Capacity of 25 athletes

Project details:

• High altitude GS technical refinement and gate training in Italy

• High-intensity, hard snow indoor SL training in Germany

• Venue is Stelvio Glacier in Italy and Alpincenter Hamburg-Wittenburg in Germany

• Accommodation at Baita Ortler in Italy

• High-altitude environment is ideal for aerobic adaptation and uninterrupted training blocks

• The combination of glacier GS and indoor SL gives our athletes exposure to two distinct surfaces and technical demands within a single project cycle

• The volume, environment, and structure are designed to accelerate technical progression and build competitive confidence heading into the Fall

Project fee includes lane fees, lift tickets, ground transportation, and meals except for travel days. Airfare includes one checked bag, one carry-on, one personal item, and one checked set of ski equipment. Airfare must be purchased through Winter Park Travel using process below. Tickets will be issued at the beginning of May. Athletes are responsible for their own transportation to/from SFO.

Flight Schedule:
Depart SFO on June 9 at 9:05 pm on LH 459 Q. Arrive at MUC on June 10 at 5:10 pm.

Depart HAM on July 3 at 1:15 pm on LH2059 V. Arrive at MUC on July 3 at 2:35 pm. Depart MUC on July 3 at 4:20 pm on LH 458 V. Arrive at SFO on July 3 at 7:00 pm.

If you book flights that are different than team flight, you must arrive in Munich before our group arrival and depart Hamburg after our group departure.

Alpine Europe U12, U14 - June 19-June 30

Hintertux, Germany

Open to all Alpine athletes who will be Alpine U12 or U14 for the 2026-2027 season
$3,400 project fee
$2,400 airfare
Capacity of 15 athletes

Project details:

• Giant Slalom and Slalom technical refinement and gate training

• High-altitude environment ideal for aerobic adaptation and uninterrupted training blocks

• Venue is Hintertuxer Gletcher in Germany

• Accommodation at Hotel Berghaus

Project fee includes lane fees, lift tickets, ground transportation, and meals except for travel days. Airfare includes one checked bag, one carry-on, one personal item, and one checked set of ski equipment. Airfare must be purchased through Winter Park Travel using process below. Tickets will be issued at the beginning of May. Athletes are responsible for their own transportation to/from SFO.

Depart SFO on June 19 at 2:00 pm on UA 194 H. Arrive at MUC on June 20 at 10:05 am.

Depart MUC on June 30 at 11:45 am on UA 195 Q. Arrive at SFO on June 30 at 2:20 pm.

Alpine Europe U14, U16, FIS - August 5-23

Project details:

• High altitude GS and SL progression

• Venue is Saastal Bergbahnen

• Accommodation at Hotel Ambiente, Saas Fee

• High-altitude environment is ideal for aerobic adaptation and uninterrupted training blocks

• Saas Fee consistently provides one of the most reliable summer training surfaces in Europe and allows us to build foundational GS and SL performance capacity

Project fee includes lane fees, lift tickets, ground transportation, and meals except for travel days. Airfare includes one checked bag, one carry-on, one personal item, and one checked set of ski equipment. Airfare must be purchased through Winter Park Travel using process below. Tickets will be issued at the end of June. Athletes are responsible for their own transportation to/from SFO.

Depart SFO on August 5 at 7:35 pm on LX 039. Arrive at ZRH on August 6 at 3:50 pm. Depart ZRH on August 6 at 5:40 pm on LX1622. Arrive at MXP on August 6 at 6:35 pm.

Depart MXP on August 23 at 10:40 am on LX1613. Arrive at ZRH on August 23 at 11:40 am. Depart ZRH on August 23 at 1:10 pm on LX 038. Arrive at SFO on August 23 at 4:15 pm.

If you book flights that are different than team flight, you must arrive in Milan before our group arrival and depart Milan after our group departure.

Freeski Mt. Hood - June 18-25

Mt. Hood, Oregon

Open to Freeski athletes who are 10+
$2,550 with a capacity of 10 athletes

Project fee includes lodging, ground transportation, lift tickets/airbag fees, and most meals.

Flight Schedule
Depart RNO on June 18 at 8:00 am on AS 1641. Arrive at PDX on June 18 at 9:33 am.

Depart PDX on June 25 at 5:55 pm on AS 1616. Arrive at RNO on June 25 at 7:31 pm.
