Alpine U10 at Sugar Bowl

The U10 Far West race series continued with slalom races on our home hill, February 14 and 15. The big storm held off allowing for the races to go off without a hitch. A big thank you to Sugar Bowl's race department and parent volunteers! On Saturday, Sugar Bowl Academy's Catherine Hanbury won both first and second runs to win by a combined 1.42 seconds. Sugar Bowl's boys skied fast, placing three in the top 15, including a top 12 by Nico Saldivar in his first Far West race, Irving Howells in 11th and Will Keatley landing on the top of the podium by 0.51 seconds. We'd also like to recognize Will Phillips with very fast skiing, winning 1st run by a margin of more than two seconds. On Sunday, Will Keatley rode the second fastest 2nd run back to the podium in third. Ava Keatley led the girls with a 12th place finish.
