Richard Guagliardo

Richard grew up in the Catskill Mountains of upstate NY and moved to the Tahoe area in the fall of 2006. He holds a B.A. and M.A. in Spanish with a concentration in linguistics and second language acquisition from the University at Albany-SUNY. Additionally, he received his 300-hour Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) certificate. Over the years, he has traveled and lived in many Spanish-speaking countries, including Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Chile, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, and Honduras. He has also had the opportunity to live with host families and attend language schools in Peru, Guatemala, Mexico, and Argentina, where he deepened his language skills and learned more about these Latin American cultures. He joined SBA in 2022 and currently teaches Spanish 2, 4, and Honors 5. In his free time, Richard loves to snowboard, wakeboard, cliff dive, read, exercise, and travel.
