Dear Sugar Bowl Academy Community,
This past week has been a challenging one for all of us, especially the families that lost mothers and wives. As shared by these families, they are heartbroken and doing their best to care for one another and their families in the way they know these mothers and wives would have wanted. Let us continue to honor their request for privacy and space as their families grieve their sudden and profound loss while preparing to continue supporting them going forward.
We are back to school on Monday. Parents, please complete the Notice of Privacy Practices and Informed Consent and Permission to Treat forms in Blackbaud so your student can meet with Nikki and Kristin. Sugar Bowl is hosting the USASA Futures Tour this week. If you are in the area, come see our athletes in action. We are looking forward to our teams being on the mountain again this weekend.
With grit, grace, and courage,
Stephen

Karen Rossman, Certified Athletic Trainer
Meet Karen Rossman, SBA’s new certified Athletic Trainer. Originally from New Jersey, she slowly migrated west in search of bigger mountains and more adventure. When she’s not working, you can usually find her hiking, trail running, skiing, or exploring the outdoors with her dog, Tucker. Karen has worked in a variety of athletic training settings since 2014, from PT clinics to high schools to industrial sites. Ironically, she doesn't watch many sports in her free time, but she absolutely loves helping athletes get back to doing what they love most. Karen grew up playing sports herself and first discovered athletic training after an injury during high school field hockey, proof that good things can come from sprained ankles. This season, Karen is excited to dive into a brand-new world: competitive skiing and snowboarding and is thrilled to be part of such an adventurous, mountain-loving community!
