Dear Sugar Bowl Academy Community,
Wow! What an incredible and intense start to skiing and riding at Sugar Bowl. Just days ago, we went from no snow to over five feet. It was a transformation. Opening the day after Christmas, multiple power outages, strong winds, road closures, the upstairs at Village Hall closed, and the updated Village Lodge added to the adventures. Through it all, our community shone. The tireless efforts of coaches, mountain operations, guest services, patrol, and the whole team here at Sugar Bowl got as much terrain open as quickly as possible, keeping Sugar Bowl the best place for winter sports athletes. We are truly grateful for all their efforts. As a parent of three athletes who have all participated in Sugar Bowl Academy programs, I know what it takes. To all our families, you have my sincerest appreciation and utmost respect. The grit to stay on I-80 with kids, pets, and food in the car for hours on end, knowing you will make it to the Summit at some point. The grace to accept that many things are beyond our control, and to recognize that everyone is doing their best given the circumstances. The courage to get up early, load all the gear, and get the kids on snow, even when your power has been out for days. You make it happen for your kids, and they benefit from these experiences in ways that will last a lifetime. Thank you parents! More memories to come this week and in 2026.
Sincerely,
Stephen

SBA Team Jackets Needed
If you have an SBA team jacket that no longer fits your athlete, please consider passing it along to another athlete. We are in need of Youth 8 jackets, in particular. If you have a jacket you no longer need, you can drop it off at the school or at the front desk in Village Hall. If your athlete is able to take a Youth 10 instead of a Youth 8, please let us know, and we will gladly exchange it. Thank you for helping ensure every athlete gets a jacket that fits this season.
Pass, Jacket, and Hoodie Pickup
We will be distributing athlete season passes, team jackets, and hoodies and t-shirts at the school on all scheduled team days from 8:15 am - 10 am. If you have not already gotten your athlete’s items, plan to stop at the school before going to Village Hall to meet your team. Season passes for athletes will only be available for pick up at the school.

Gabriel Park finished in the top 10 in the men’s GS race, with Miles Pfeister and Ethan Cohen finishing in the top 40.
