SBA Class of 2026
Ava Bradford
Ava is an Alpine racer from South Lake Tahoe, CA. Ava had multiple top 10 finishes this season in both Slalom and Super G. She finished in 3rd overall and 2nd in U18 in Slalom at Sugar Bowl.
Ava will be attending The University of California, Davis and plans to major in Neurobiology, Physiology, and Behavior.
In her Senior Project, Ava explored “How Changes in the Prefrontal Cortex Affect Human Behavior, Personality, and Impulsivity. Her most valuable takeaway from SBA is “Doing late work sucks!” We look forward to watching Ava continue to grow as she starts her next chapter in life!
Anders Leckie
Anders is a Freeride skier from Truckee, CA. He finished 4th in the Taos IFSA Junior 3* and won the Ski for Scotty award at the Kirkwood IFSA 3*.
He has been accepted to The University of Colorado, Boulder and plans to take a PG year to continue his ski career.
In his Senior Project, Anders explored “The Application of 3D Printing in Auto, Biotech, and Aerospace Manufacturing. His most valuable takeaway from SBA is “grit”. Anders joined SBA in Grade 8 and has grown tremendously as an athlete, student, and person. We wish Anders all the best as he continues his Freeride career!
Ava Morrison
Ava is an Alpine racer from Los Angeles, CA. Ava had two top 20 finishes in Slalom this season.
She will be attending The University of British Columbia She wants to get her EMT certification, then Major in Biology with hopes of working in Emergency Medicine.
Ava focused on “Making Skiing More Accessible to All” in her Senior Project. Her most valuable takeaway from SBA is “independence”. We are excited to see what’s next for Ava!
Ian Petersen
Ian is a Freeride skier from Truckee, CA. He had two top 15 finishes this season.
Ian will be attending The University of California, Davis and plans to major in Mechanical Engineering.
For his Senior Project, Ian explored “AI: The Doom of the Species or Useful Gadget?”. His most valuable takeaway from SBA is “Grit. You have to apply yourself to everything. You can’t be good at something without doing it. You have to start somewhere, and persevere.” We look forward to watching where Ian’s grit takes him!
Eloise Rogers
Eloise is an Alpine racer from Truckee, CA. She had multiple top 25 finishes in Slalom and GS this season. She finished 6th in GS at Northstar in January.
Eloise will be attending The University of Utah, and plans to major in Mechanical Engineering.
The focus of Eloise’s Senior Project was “The Uneven Prevalence in Time and Space of Allergies.” Her most valuable takeaway from SBA is “discipline in training and working out.” Eloise’s hard work and discipline will serve her well in the future!
Sophie Skytta
Sophie is an Alpine racer from Marquette, MI. Sophie had an excellent year with multiple top 10 finishes in Slalom and GS. She had a 1st and 3rd place finish in GS in Snow King this season.
She has been accepted to Bates College and plans to take a PG year to continue her ski racing career.
Sophie focused on “The Efficacy of Infant Hearing Tests” in her Senior Project. Her most valuable takeaway from SBA is “independence, since being so far from home and not having my family close to me. It has taught me that it is okay to work hard and follow your dreams.” We look forward to watching Sophie as she continues her skiing career next year!
