Dear Sugar Bowl Academy Community,

SBA’s nonprofit status allows us to offer programs at a different cost structure. For example, the Mountain Shredders full-day Sunday program for an 8-year-old provides 10 days on snow for $2,399, and that price does not include a season pass or any gear. SBA’s program for the same age offers 50 days on snow for $5,000, with that price including an unrestricted season pass, a team jacket, a bib, and a hoodie. Thanks to our nonprofit model, SBA can deliver our program for 58% less per day. This model only works because of the generosity of our community. Each year, we receive incredible support. With your help, we can do even more, and more support means more opportunities for our athletes. The best way to make a difference is for everyone to give at a level that feels comfortable. This Sunday’s Academy Soiree, with dinner, drinks, music, a raffle, and live auction, will be the most enjoyable way to support SBA. Get your tickets now and join us for an unforgettable evening of celebrating our athletes and supporting our programs. If you are unable to attend, you can still make a gift. Whether you give $100 or $1,000, every contribution matters. The more people who give, the more we can accomplish. Every dollar of every gift supports our equipment, facilities, coaches, and programs. I hope to see you at the Soiree on Sunday. If not, please consider supporting SBA by making a gift today.

Sincerely,
Stephen
Executive Director

Academics

School Wide Book Read: Accountable

This week we began, in earnest, to discuss the school wide read, Accountable. Students met in their homerooms on Monday to unpack the major themes and ideas explored in the first couple of sections. The overall engagement was outstanding, with students from all grade levels offering powerful commentary on social media usage, empathy, communication, and much more. The SBA community is asked to read Pages 48-106 (Part 3 and 4) for Monday.

Middle School Update

Our Middle Schoolers at SBA continue to do an outstanding job balancing academics, athletics, and everything in between. On Monday, they showed strong engagement and empathy in our school wide discussion of the book, Accountable. They carried this momentum into the rest of the week, exploring chemical reactions in science, Greek Gods in English and building essential foundational skills in Math. We are excited to have Middle School families on campus tomorrow for the Info Session for SBA High School.
