Spring Camp - Alpine

Last week, our Alpine team embarked on an exhilarating four days of skiing at Sugar Bowl Resort that brought together athletes and coaches for a fantastic blend of skill development, race simulations, freeskiing, and unforgettable experiences on the slopes.

Sugar Bowl groomers and SBA coaches worked hard to deliver excellent training conditions for our U14 to FIS athletes. We used over two pallets of snow chemicals to harden the snow. On Thursday and Friday, Starthaus and several ski manufacturers joined us for ski equipment testing, and athletes tested new products that will be available next year. Now, athletes will focus on academics and will take a rest before our June European project.

Spring Camp - Freeride

We just wrapped up an unforgettable four-day session at the Spring Camp, and Spring delivered in full force with perfect slush every single day. The park crew went above and beyond, setting us up with an epic playground of jumps, creative rail features, and even a mini half pipe.

Our crew came in fired up and stayed motivated all week long. From dialing in new tricks to revisiting old-school favorites, the progression was nonstop. Zoey Clark used the week to push her rail game, locking in clean hits on the down tube and working to dial a 270 out. Jake Beevor went to battle with his first rail attempts, showing real grit and determination. Ian Petersen kept things stylish with smooth butter tricks and effortless switch 180s. Matt Shapiro sent it all week, working on underflips, rodeos, and even tossing a misty 7. Ollie Coffey reminded us all what a real pipe skier looks like, bringing clean lines and control to the mini pipe. And Baker Cashel stepped up in a big way, landing his first front flips and going head-to-head with the elusive K-Fed on the rails.

The biggest shoutout of the week goes to our new head park coach, Vic Demaio. His years of experience, laid-back style, and positive energy made a huge impact on the crew. The kids connected with him instantly, and we’re beyond stoked to have him on the team.

Massive thanks to the Sugar Bowl Park Crew, Lift Ops, and Ski Patrol for keeping things safe, smooth, and fun. The vibes were high, the tricks were flowing, and we couldn’t have asked for a better way to close out the season!
