Dear Sugar Bowl Academy Community,

With in-person classes starting on Tuesday, I want to offer the warmest of welcomes to all of our new and returning students and their families. We are going to have our largest group of students this year, with 58 full-year students and at least 33 winter-term students.

This update contains a lot of important information. Consistent communication is a focus for us this year, and everyone can support our efforts by reading the first few sections carefully. Students, their parents, and our staff need to read the full update in order to have the information necessary for a smooth first week of school at Sugar Bowl.

We are excited to have our students back on campus, and we are eager to get all of our team athletes on the mountain this winter. Like our school, we already have our largest group registered for our teams. If you know of an athlete that has not yet registered for the best ski/ride program at the best home mountain, encourage them to do it now as we can only accommodate a few more athletes this year – www.sbacademy.org/teams.

It has been a busy summer preparing our facilities, supporting our athletes in their training, enhancing our academic program, working with the resort to upgrade on-snow opportunities, and clarifying policies and procedures. We are ready to go!

Thank you for trusting us with your students and athletes. We love what we do, we are fueled by your support, and we all benefit from our magical community. Let’s keep working together to deliver another year of grit, grace, and courage.

Sincerely,
Stephen
Executive Director

This Week

Driving and Parking

There are several active work zones that are currently limiting driving and parking at Sugar Bowl. For this week, there is no driving to or parking at the Dorm and Academy. There is also no driving to or parking in the Village. All parking needs to be in the middle lot, the parking lot on the way to the Judah drop-off loop. Student drop off and pick up also needs to be in the middle lot or the Judah drop-off loop. From the middle lot, take the stairs down to the lower lot and then use the road to walk to Village Hall. From the Judah drop-off loop, walk down to the foot bridge and walk on the path to Village Hall. Drive slowly, respect the work zones, and follow all signage. Thank you for helping us maintain a safe environment during these major projects.
